Barrister-at-Law Mrs. Jamil is a Senior Counsel. A Barrister from the Honourable Society of Gray's Inn, London, U.K. She has 25 years experience of legal practice in Pakistan as an advocate of the High Courts of Sindh, and Punjab. She has recently returned to the firm after a leave of absence lasting three years during which she held the offices of Provincial Minister of Law, Social Welfare and Women Development, Government of Sindh and Federal Minister of Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights and Federal Minister of Environment as which she represented Pakistan at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa . Her appointment as Federal Minister recognizes her unique contribution to the understanding of the Law as it relates to an Islamic economy and society in transition. She is a specialist Legal Consultant in Civil, Corporate and Legal infrastructure matters. She has recently performed a World Bank Consultancy on the legal infrastructure of the Karachi Port Trust (Pakistan's Premier Port), Karachi Adventist Hospital and other large concerns. Professor at Sindh Muslim Law College, University of Karachi, for Masters of Laws for the last 12 years. A fellow of the Salzburg Seminars on Law, Austria since 1991. Member of the European Managers Association, U.K., since 1994. Secretary General of the Pakistan Chapter of the English Speaking Union International. Vice-president of Rotary Club of Karachi (1998-1999). President of Rotary Club of Karachi (1999-2000).
