Arbitration

Our firm makes representation before arbitrator(s) on behalf of our clients in arbitration proceedings in Pakistan and abroad. Over the years we have successfully conducted International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Arbitration's in Paris in Association with White & Case, New York. We also continue to conduct successful local arbitrations and dispute resolution for various companies and industries, in particular foreign investors.

The complex laws on arbitration within Pakistan can quite easily render an award unenforceable thus leading to a monumental waste of time and energy and so in our transaction work we specialize in developing arbitral clauses that are best suited to the needs of the investor.

Our firm has worked actively with the International Chamber of Commerce Pakistan, in lobbying for the implementation of the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards, 1958 into Pakistani legislation. We have advised the Ministry of Commerce Working Group on Arbitral Reforms in formulating policies for implementing the New York Convention. In addition, our firm is represented on the ICC's Arbitration Commission, Paris.
